ArmInfo. "Of course, we have we have more to discuss on building bilateral relations. And, of course, the most pressing, most acute problems are the normalization of the situation in Nagorno-Karabakh and around it," Russian President Vladimir Putin said to Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan in Moscow.
According to the Russian leader, there is no need to talk about how deep the bilateral relations are, which are of a strategic nature. "But still, I consider it important to mention that 40% of all capital investments in the Armenian economy are of Russian origin. We have a solid trade turnover. At the same time, for various reasons, over the past year, primarily due to the coronavirus, we observe a slight decrease ", - said Vladimir Putin. He expressed confidence that in the near future the parties will be able not only to restore this volume, but also to move on.
The President of the Russian Federation noted that the intergovernmental commission of the two countries is working actively, and the Armenian prime minister is very actively supporting its activities. He recalled that recently the Russian Deputy Prime Minister was in Armenia, who presented a vision of the trajectory of development in the region as a whole, bearing in mind the post-war state. "We have repeatedly discussed this topic. The most important component is the possibility of restoring trade and economic ties, transport routes in the region. So that Armenia has new opportunities for the development of the country. In my opinion, this is an extremely important thing," Putin said expressing the hope that all these issues, as well as others related to development prospects, the parties will be able to discuss during the current meeting.
