As reported by the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia, the area of the fire was about 2000 square meters.
As ArmInfo previously reported, the signal about the fire in the shopping center was received by the control panel of the RA Ministry of Emergency Situations on April 6 at 03:07 am.
According to the department, the fire was assigned the second degree of complexity. Six combat crews of the firefighting and rescue squad of the Yerevan SS Rescue Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, a fire engine with a ladder, an operational group of the national crisis management center, duty groups of the department for organizing fire extinguishing and rescue operations and the medical support department left for the scene.
"It turned out that a fire broke out in the central building of the" Surmalu "shopping center (about 2,000 sq. m.). Two more combat crews of the fire and rescue squad of the Yerevan Rescue Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations went to the scene.
The fire was assigned the third degree of complexity: six more combat crews of the fire-and-rescue detachment of the Yerevan SS Rescue Department of the Ministry of Emergency Situations and a fire engine with a ladder left for the scene. The fire was localized at 06:24. The pavilions of toys and household goods were burned down along with the property, "the ministry said in a statement. At the same time, it was emphasized that the head of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia Andranik Piloyan, director of the Rescue Service, Colonel Armen Gasparyan arrived at the scene. The fire was extinguished at 08:39 local time.
We also note that an investigative group is working at the site of the fire in the shopping center, and investigative measures are being taken.
