ArmInfo.Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan will resign at the end of April - the exact date has not been determined, the head of the My Step faction Lilit Makunts said during a briefing with journalists on April 5.
According to Makunts, it is obvious to her that the current head of the Cabinet of Ministers will head the election list, but the final decision is up to the management of the Civil Contract party. As for the composition of the general list, as the head of the faction noted, it will be known no earlier than May. At the same time, Makunts did not rule out the possibility of including new names in the list.
According to the head of the faction, the rating of the ruling party is still high. This, as the deputy stressed, is evidenced by numerous opinion polls - not only published, but also closed. At the same time, she refrained from making predictions about whether "My Step" will be able to form a majority in the future parliament.
Recall that early parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held in Armenia on June 20. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said this on his Facebook page after a meeting with the leader of the opposition parliamentary faction "Prosperous Armenia" Gagik Tsarukyan. At the end of March, Pashinyan announced that he would resign from his post in April. According to Pashinyan, he will resign "not to leave, but to hold early parliamentary elections." In the period before the election, he will remain acting head of government.
