ArmInfo.Ani Samsonyan, a member of the opposition faction "Enlightened Armenia" of the National Assembly of Armenia, assures that there are no agreements with the authorities other than holding early elections in a clear, short time. "We will not give the authorities a reason to back down from this agenda at some point," she assured reporters at a briefing on April 5.
According to Samsonyan, at the moment the party is not preparing pro-parliamentary lists of candidates from the "Enlightened Armenia"bloc. "First of all, the prime minister should resign and then we will understand whether early elections will be held or not. We do not rule out anything, " the deputy said. At the same time, as the deputy noted, today it is wrong to reflect on the possible violation of the agreements reached by the head of government.
At the same time, the member of the faction once again confirmed that "Enlightened Armenia" will strive for the maximum - " to become the next power in the country. "We are not going to the polls to take several parliamentary seats," she said. According to Samsonyan, the PA has every chance to get the votes of "47% of undecided voters". "The election campaign will be crucial," she explained.
Ani Samsonyan also touched upon the PA's vision for a possible future dialogue with Turkey and Azerbaijan. This, as she stressed, will be said in the party's program. "This issue should be treated in a balanced, calm manner, going beyond the primitive idea-Turkey is our enemy or Turkey is not our enemy," the parliamentarian believes. At the same time, according to Samsonyan, Turkey and Azerbaijan are hostile countries to Armenia, since they have not abandoned their hostile rhetoric and continue to threaten the physical existence of the Armenian nation. "Why only we are being imposed with pacifist appeals. Are we the aggressors? No, " Samsonyan said.
Recall that early parliamentary elections are scheduled to be held in Armenia on June 20. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan said this on his Facebook page after a meeting with the leader of the opposition parliamentary faction "Prosperous Armenia" Gagik Tsarukyan. At the end of March, Pashinyan announced that he would resign from his post in April. According to Pashinyan, he will resign "not to leave, but to hold early parliamentary elections." In the period before the election, he will remain acting head of government.
