ArmInfo. In April, Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan intends to resign in order to hold early parliamentary elections in the country in June.
Speaking today in Armavir region, the head of government noted that this will be a formal step and he will continue to act as head of the cabinet until a new parliament is formed and a new prime minister is elected.
Recall that on March 18, Pashinyan, after holding political consultations with the president and leaders of the opposition parliamentary factions - "Prosperous Armenia" and "Enlightened Armenia" announced the day of early elections, setting them on June 20.
At the same time, at the meeting, Pashinyan made a number of strategic statements regarding the possibilities of resuming regional communications for the country: “In this new situation, we must set a task for Armenia to have new communications.
Today, the country's economy is tied in fact on only one road, which passes through the Georgian-Russian checkpoint "Verkhniy Lars", which may remain closed for days. So, for example, due to weather conditions, hundreds of trucks have accumulated at the checkpoint today.
In this regard, he noted the importance of using the railway communication, especially to Iran and Russia, passing through the territory of Azerbaijan, stressing that for this it will be necessary to make certain decisions.
He noted the need to find a compromise: "It cannot be that we had a road through their territory, and they did not get a road through our territory".
The prime minister believes that Armenia should change its view fore the region, despite the fact, that the both sides perceive each other as enemies, and that this mutual view of the region needs to be changed.
