In order to mitigate the impact of the coronavirus pandemic, back in the spring of 2020, the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), as part of its portfolio of programs promoting public-private partnerships, initiated a special grant program (develoPPP) for private companies in developing countries.
The report notes that within the framework of this support program, one of the Armenian diagnostic laboratories received a grant from GIZ in the amount of 200 thousand euros, thanks to which the testing capacity will increase to 1000-2000 PCR per day. For this purpose, laboratory and X-ray equipment and related accessories were purchased, which after the completion of the program in 2023 will be transferred to the RA Ministry of Health.
The program will also provide retraining courses for laboratory personnel and relevant ministry staff.
