ArmInfo.Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Mher Grigoryan received the first ambassador - resident of the Kingdom of the Netherlands to Armenia Nico Schermers.
Welcoming the Ambassador, the Deputy Prime Minister highly appreciated the opening of the Permanent Embassy of the Netherlands in Armenia and expressed hope that the presence of the Ambassador in Armenia would allow for more active contacts and relations between the two countries.
Thanking for the reception, the Ambassador of the Netherlands assured the Deputy Prime Minister that he would make every effort to develop the Armenian-Dutch relations.
During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister presented the situation in the country after the war unleashed by Azerbaijan, emphasizing the humanitarian and socio-economic problems, for the solution of which the government has taken a number of measures.
The existing preconditions for economic cooperation between Armenia and the Netherlands were discussed. The Deputy Prime Minister considered it possible, in particular, to develop possible cooperation in the field of agriculture, presenting to the Ambassador the investment potential of Armenia as a member state of the EAEU.
The importance of the Comprehensive Enhanced Partnership Agreement between Armenia and the EU was mentioned. In this context, the Deputy Prime Minister presented the process of developing strategies in various areas based on the agreement. The parties discussed the ongoing reforms in the field of justice and deepening cooperation in this direction.
