ArmInfo. The realization in the classical sense of a coup d'etat in Armenia seems unlikely. President of Yerevan Press Club Boris Navasardyan expressed a similar opinion to ArmInfo.
"The reason is the wisdom shown by our people in cases of the exacerbation of the situation observed now. And in this situation, it is quite possible to form such a balance of forces, which with a high degree of probability will demonstrate a winner in the event of civil clashes and a real coup. After that, a force whose defeat will be predetermined , simply surrenders, "he said.
In this light, the expert expressed hope for the manifestation of this, which has developed over the past three decades, reflecting political realities, traditions this time too. At the same time, according to Navasardyan, even the implementation of this "traditional" scenario will be far from the best solution for overcoming the internal political crisis. Primarily due to the fact that it will lead to a situation in which the power and the state will be captured, and not won through democratic processes.
The democratic prospect of further development, according to the YPC President, shines for Armenia only if the only scenario is realized. Namely, holding political consultations with the participation of the current government and a wide range of political forces. With the aim of reaching a consensus on the composition of the future government, the timing and conditions of the early parliamentary elections.
Commenting on the prospects for the "end of the velvet" in the light of the promises voiced at the last rally by Prime Minister Pashinyan, Navasardyan recalled the many promises of decisive action that were given by the authorities over the past 3 years, but never fulfilled. It is very difficult to imagine the implementation of the prime minister's promise to "put an end to velvet," according to his estimates. Moreover, in conditions when the authorities are far from complete control over the situation in the country. And the likelihood of submission to the prime minister, especially of the well-coordinated and effective work of all structures on which the conditional end of velvet depends today is very low.
"In this light, I rather view the premier's statement as another populist step. This step is aimed at ensuring the continued" street "support of at least a part of society for Pashinyan and his political team. Perhaps this will give the prime minister an opportunity to gain time to find other slogans. On the whole, the situation has aggravated to the extent that Pashinyan will not achieve special results by his attempt to drag on for time, "YPC President summed up.
