ArmInfo. The ruling parliamentary bloc "My Step" has failed the sitting of the Council of the National Assembly, at which it was planned to make a decision to  hold an extraordinary sitting of the National Assembly on February  26.

In a conversation with journalists, secretary of the Prosperous  Armenia opposition faction Arman Abovyan noted that the current  authorities of Armenia are living in a parallel world. They are  unable to soberly assess the situation in the country. He refused to  comment on the invitation of the head of the Armenian government to  dialogue with all the political forces of the country, since,  according to the lawmaker, all statements of the representatives of  the authorities are mutually exclusive. "There is no desire to  understand the logic of their actions," Arman Abovyan stressed.

The problem, he said, is that today the authorities have once again  demonstrated that they ignore the most important institution of power  - the National Assembly. In fact, they have resorted to the tactics  of political boycotts if issues are not on their agenda. He informed  that not only the leadership of the National Assembly, but also the  members of the Council did not come to the sitting of the Council.  Thus, the authorities once again prove that they themselves are  straining the situation. "We are doing everything possible to prevent  collisions, and to prevent this from happening, it is necessary to  transfer the ongoing processes into a normal, understandable field.  The authorities have dropped out of an understandable field," Arman  Abovyan stated.

He added that now we are talking about the current situation. For the  second day, the opposition parliamentary factions, using all  constitutional opportunities, have been taking steps to reduce the  level of tension to a minimum level using the capabilities of the  National Assembly.  The MP expressed regret at the statements of the  authorities, and in particular of the RA Prime Minister, about the  attempted coup d'etat. "They do not even know how such attempts  occur, and do not want to get acquainted with the experience of other  states on this issue. Meanwhile, the statement of the military says  everything clearly. Attempts to constantly look for the culprits and  turn the situation upside down lead to dire consequences. Today we  are living in the midst of a grave crisis " To note, that today at  11.00am on the initiative of the opposition factions "Prosperous  Armenia" and "Bright Armenia" a sitting of the NA Council was to be  held, at which a decision was to be made to hold an extraordinary  sitting of the parliament at 4.00pm with one issue - the abolition of  martial law.
