ArmInfo. The Armenian opposition expects that today, February 26, an extraordinary session of the RA National Assembly will be held. The only candidate for prime minister from the Movement to Save the Motherland, former Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Vazgen Manukyan, informed the journalists about this.
He noted that the sitting of the National Assembly Council is to be held at 11.00am, which must make a corresponding decision. And if this decision is positive, it is possible that on February 26 at 4.00pm an extraordinary meeting will begin. There is only one issue on its agenda - the abolition of the martial law regime. Vazgen Manukyan noted that 35 signatures of MPs have already been collected in favor of the meeting. Before it is held, it is possible that the opposition will hold another march. "Soon everyone will get together, and we will decide on our further actions", the oppositionist said. He added that the night passed calmly, and no provocations were recorded. Vazgen Manukyan believes that the incumbent prime minister has lost his entire electorate by 90%. For his final removal from power, a truly national movement is necessary. The former Prime Minister recalled the statement of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of the country, which notes that the current Prime Minister of the Republic of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan threatens the security of the state. This is evidenced not only by the signatures of the top leadership of the Armed Forces, but also by the commanders of all five corps. One thing is clear, Vazgen Manukyan continued, Nikol Pashinyan must leave. Speaking about yesterday's rally and march, held at the call of the head of the Armenian government, the oppositionist stressed that Nikol Pashinyan set himself the task of repeating the events of March 1, 2008, when he sent people to clashes. "It is in his nature to provoke tensions," the former prime minister stated.
