ArmInfo. On February 24, Armenian President Armen Sarkissian received a delegation led by the EU Special Representative for the South Caucasus and the Crisis in Georgia Toivo Klaar. The meeting was also attended by the head of the EU Delegation to Armenia, Ambassador Andrea Wiktorin.
As reported by the RA President's press service, the interlocutors touched upon the new realities that developed after the war, issues of security and stability in the region. The EU Special Representative confirmed the support of the European Union for the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs in the peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
President Armen Sarkissian particularly touched upon humanitarian issues, touching upon key issues related to the immediate return of Armenian prisoners of war and civilians detained in Azerbaijan, as well as the issue of finding the missing and transferring them to the Armenian side. Speaking about the new challenges that arose in the post-war period, the President touched upon demarcation processes, especially issues related to the security of the border communities of Syunik region. During the meeting, the interlocutors also exchanged views on the Armenia-EU partnership agenda, noting opportunities for further cooperation, expecting fruitful partnership.
