ArmInfo. There have always been problems with funding science. They were raised especially sharply after the second Karabakh war. RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this at a meeting dedicated to the development of science.
He recalled that the RA National Assembly adopted the draft law "On Higher Education and Science" in the first reading. The state's interest in science is due to the fact that this area can ensure the long-term development of Armenia. There is no room for discussion in this issue, the problem is how, by what mechanisms and to what extent to provide funding for the science, so that a real result is created that would become the result of the work of people who are really engaged in science. An equally important task, Nikol Pashinyan continued, is to resolve the issue of famous scientists of the older generation. Ultimately, after some time, this work should lead to serious results. "This is a really serious problem, and today we must try to propose solutions. We have reached the point when it is necessary to make understandable decisions, being confident in the further effectiveness of these decisions," Nikol Pashinyan said.
