ArmInfo. The political field of Armenia resembles a closed chain. Leader of the "Enlightened Armenia" party Edmon Marukyan expressed such an opinion to ArmInfo.
"The links in this chain are ex-presidents Levon Ter-Petrosyan, Robert Kocharian and Serzh Sargsyan. And as long as events revolve around these links, the incumbent Prime Minister Pashinyan will remain in power. Since his entire image today rests on opposition to his predecessors. Breaking the chain is possible in case of consolidation of the Armenian society around other political forces, "he stressed.
According to Marukyan, if the ex-presidents refuse ambitions for the presidency, the society will get rid of phobias and understand that they are not the only alternative to Pashinyan. According to him, it is only possible to achieve changes in the internal political situation in this way.
Otherwise, according to Marukyan's forecasts, the current government will continue to be fueled by theses that equate Pashinyan's departure with an automatic return back to the period of the plunder of the country. In this light, the politician considers the refusal of the representatives of the former government to return ambitions as an urgent necessity. The very fact of such ambitions, in his opinion, drives the discussion into the same Procrustean bed, namely "whether to give power to those from whom the people have taken it away."
"And all this is taking place against the background of more and more new questions to the representatives of the former regime. One of them, with his recent interviews, stirred up Serzh Sargsyan himself. It is not clear why we spent millions of dollars on the development of 7 regions around Artsakh, if initially in the course of everything During the negotiation period, was there a question of handing them over to Azerbaijan in exchange for status? It turns out that our taxes, donations from our compatriots from the Diaspora were going nowhere. Moreover, loans worth hundreds of millions of dollars were provided for the implementation of projects to build hydroelectric power plants in these territories under the guarantee of the state " , - summed up the politician.
