According to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia, the Berd-Chambarak road, as well as the sections of roads leading to the Ambed fortress and Lake Kari, are closed.
Blizzard on the Vardentsyats pass. In addition, the passes of Vardenyats and Dilijan, as well as the section of the Gyumri-Bavra road, are closed for the passage of heavy trucks with trailers, and are difficult to pass for other types of vehicles. For heavy trucks, it is difficult to travel along the Bagratashen-Noyemberyan section of the road. Travel is also difficult along the intercommunal roads of Ashotsk, Amasia, Shirak region, and on the Spitak pass in Lori region.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Armenia urged drivers to go to Tavush, Gegharkunik, Aragatsotn and Shirak regions only when absolutely necessary due to heavy rainfall.
The Ministry of Emergency Situations of the Republic of Armenia, with reference to colleagues from Georgia and North Ossetia, reported that the road to the Verkhniy Lars checkpoint is closed for all types of vehicles, more than 530 cars are waiting for the opening of the checkpoint on the Russian side.
It is also worth noting that the snow caused a collapse in the Armenian capital. From early morning on the streets of Yerevan there are numerous congestions and accidents due to poor work of public utilities, more precisely, due to their inaction.
