ArmInfo.Armenian Trade Representative in China Varazdat Karapetyan has submitted his resignation letter. He announced this on his Facebook page.
"Refusing the post of Armenia's trade representative in China, I understand that now is not the time to go to China, now is the time to stay in our country and drag the heavy burden of this shameful defeat with like- minded people and comrades. We must first of all have our own nation state, national vision, mission, developed strategy, and then think about our relations with others.
We cannot achieve all this by dividing into blacks and whites, by destroying state and national values and institutions. Looking back at my path along with the ruling force, analyzing it in the light of the realities that unfolded for me after the war, I understand that I have had little or no influence on the underlying processes. My steps weren't always effective or their long-term impact was in an unknown direction. I will not refer to circumstances beyond my control. In the end, these are my steps and I apologize for these steps in front of people who trust me and believe in me, "he said.
Karapetyan also did not touch upon the results of his parliamentary activity, pointing out that it was inexpedient to touch upon it in this context.
At the same time, he stressed that by resignation he does not elect this or that political force, party or party leader, especially now, when the tendencies of separation and absorption of each other are reaching a destructive peak.
"I choose the Armenian Apostolic Church, the Armenian language, a traditional patriarchal family, a strong community, a strong state, where human rights do not contradict the nation state, where the army is the axis of the development of science, economy and education. I choose national and public solidarity, unity, Nzhdeh is the brightest hero in this field. Now my friends and I are creating a fund to spread, strengthen and develop national values. I will write more about our programs or tell you in the near future>, summed up Karapetyan.
Recall that Karapetyan headed this post at the end of November 2020. Prior to that, he was a deputy of the National Assembly of Armenia from the ruling My Step faction.
