ArmInfo . Processes caused by martial law are underway in the Syunik region of Armenia. On February 12, at a briefing in the RA National Assembly, NA deputy from the ruling "My Step" faction Sisak Gabrielyan said this, commenting on the decision of the National Security Service to restrict media activities in the region.
The MP stressed that at present one of the main issues on the agenda is the return of prisoners of war, and it is important not to harm this process. After some time, Gabrielyan assured, the problem will find its solution. The deputy stressed that no one forbids media representatives to visit the region, the issue simply needs to be coordinated with the National Security Service. Moreover, video filming is being carried out in the border areas. "If you want to go tomorrow and you are forbidden to shoot, naturally, I will be among the first who will be with you and will try to understand the existing problem," said the deputy. He added that at present the NSS proceeds from the logic of "no harm". Moreover, the video filming is addressed not only to the public of Armenia, they can also be used in neighboring countries, and some caution is needed. Nevertheless, as of today, there have been no problems with visiting the border communities of Syunik region, Gabrielyan assured.
Note that on February 10, the NSS of Armenia issued a statement, according to which from now on, to cover various topics in the border regions of Syunik, the media must have the consent of the national security bodies.
