ArmInfo. The European Union notified Armenia of the completion of the process of ratification by the EU and the EU member states of the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement (CEPA). The press service of the RA MFA reports that the agreement will fully enter into force on March 1 this year.
The agreement, which was signed on November 24, 2017 in Brussels within the framework of the Eastern Partnership Summit, takes bilateral relations between the Republic of Armenia and the European Union to a new level of partnership, regulates dialogue in the political and economic spheres, as well as sectoral cooperation and trade relations.
The Agreement between Armenia and the EU is a comprehensive document that provides a solid legal basis for the partnership between Armenia and the EU, outlines cooperation in various fields - from justice, security, economy, agriculture and environment and climate infrastructure, education and science, culture, health etc.
Effective implementation of the agreement will bring tangible results to our citizens, contributing to the strengthening of democracy, political, economic and social stability through large-scale reforms and, over time, will have an impact on the well-being and standard of living of our citizens. It should be emphasized that the Armenia-EU Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement addresses the issue of a peaceful settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, and therefore reaffirms the EU's commitment to supporting the efforts and approaches of the OSCE Minsk Group Co-Chairs aimed at resolving the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, in particular, at the basis of equality and the right of peoples to self-determination.
The Armenian government has repeatedly reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring the effective implementation of the Comprehensive and Enhanced Partnership Agreement between Armenia and the EU, which is fully in line with the broad reform agenda in Armenia.
