ArmInfo. On February 10, RA Deputy Prime Minister Tigran Avinyan received the newly appointed Swedish Ambassador to Armenia Patrick Svensson.
According to the press service of the RA government, the Deputy Prime Minister congratulated the Ambassador on the commencement of the diplomatic service in Armenia and wished him success in the development of the Armenian-Swedish relations.
The Ambassador thanked for the reception, noting that the accreditation of the Swedish Ambassador to Armenia opens up new opportunities for expanding and deepening cooperation between the two countries. Tigran Avinyan recalled the implementation of the programs of democratic reforms in Armenia, thanked Sweden for their support.
In addition to the existing cooperation at the bilateral level, the interlocutors also touched upon cooperation within the framework of the Eastern Partnership and the further development of Armenia's relations with the EU. The parties discussed security issues, including the situation after the war unleashed by Azerbaijan against Artsakh, the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict and the need for the immediate return of Armenian prisoners.
The Deputy Prime Minister presented the process of economic reforms in Armenia, stressing the importance of the Economic Response Program adopted last week. In this context, he called for an active dialogue with Sweden in terms of attracting new investments, cooperation in science and innovation, the development of high technologies, and strengthening the sustainable development program. Public administration reforms were discussed in detail, in particular, opportunities for cooperation in the field of digital services. The parties also discussed the prospects for deepening partnership in the health sector.
