ArmInfo. The National Security Service (NSS) of Armenia demanded that the rector of the Russian-Armenian (Slavonic) University Armen Darbinyan resign.
Corresponding member of the RA National Academy of Sciences, Doctor of Economics, Professor Darbinyan announced this on his Facebook page through an open letter to the Prime Minister of the country Nikol Pashinyan. In his letter, Darbinyan noted that over the past few months, the government apparatus, together with the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports, have been making empty efforts to dismiss him.
Realizing that this could not be done, the special services got involved in the rector's dismissal. As Darbinyan wrote in a letter to the prime minister, this is "a style that is so characteristic and familiar for solving personal issues."
<With a laugh, I reject your ridiculous demand. : Your intuition does not let you down, in my face and in the person of my supporters you have and will have the most ardent political opponents, and if I ever decide to resign, it will have only one goal - to overthrow you and oust "Nicholism" from the political arena of Armenia, "said Darbinyan.
The rector directly accused the prime minister of being anti-Russian, which Pashinyan would never hide, even being in the "current vassal position." Pashinyan, according to Armen Darbinyan, is carrying out the anti-Russian agenda in Armenia at the direction of the centers leading him to dismantle this unique powerful educational institution. At the same time, Darbinyan recalled that RAU was created with the direct participation of the former Prime Minister of Russia Yevgeny Primakov and Darminyan himself when he was Prime Minister of Armenia.
The RAU rector expressed the opinion that the current head of the NSS of Armenia, rendering service to Pashinyan as a personal thing, is responsible for the safety of the 7th Prime Minister of Armenia (Armen Darbinian - Ed. note).
To note, the founders of the RAU are both educational ministries of Russia and Armenia. It is financed, including to a greater extent from the budget of the Russian Federation. Armen Darbinyan has been the rector of RAU since 2001.
