ArmInfo. A protest action is being held in front of the building of the Armenian Parliament, which is being carried out by the Movement to Save the Motherland. An ArmInfo correspondent reports.
Today the parliament of Armenia is holding an extraordinary session, during which the issue of "On introducing amendments and additions to the judicial code of Armenia" will be discussed. According to the planned changes, it is assumed that an institution of judges will be created who will specialize in ensuring control over pre-trial proceedings, which implies arrest and search. Also, these judges will deal with corruption crimes.
The opposition demands to cancel the consideration of this bill, as it is aimed at persecuting opposition representatives who are undesirable to the authorities. Opposition figures noted that instead of dealing with topical issues, the Armenian authorities are busy persecuting the opposition, which is unacceptable in the current situation.
