ArmInfo. The High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs of Armenia Zareh Sinanyan plans to visit Russia and France in the near future to hold a meeting with representatives of the Diaspora. Zareh Sinanyan announced this during an online press conference, presenting the programs of the current year.
He said that the program of the trip to Russia had already been prepared. "In two weeks, I plan to visit Moscow, from where I will go to the Urals, where I will hold meetings with a representative of the Diaspora to establish contact with the historical homeland and resolve urgent problems, in order to personally understand what the Armenian communities of Russia are," said the High Commissioner for Diaspora Affairs.
Speaking about the future projects of the department headed by him, Sinanyan stated that the pandemic of a new type of coronavirus and the war in Nagorno-Karabakh hindered the implementation of most of the projects outlined by the committees on Diaspora affairs last year.
According to Sinanyan, the "Igorts" project was an exception to find professional personnel in the Diaspora to involve them in work in the state structures of Armenia.
In this regard, he noted that last year, within the framework of this project, 800 applications were received and 100 personnel were selected for their employment in state bodies, however, due to the coronavirus pandemic, only 51 participants were able to come and work in Armenia. "This year, already in March, we plan to start accepting applications for this project and select 60 highly qualified employees to work in Armenia," Sinanyan said.
At the same time, he noted that a number of other projects will be implemented, including: the All- Armenian Healthcare Network, with the help of which specialists from the Diaspora will be attracted to assist in the rehabilitation of military personnel, provide them with psychological support, and training webinars in this area will be held.
In addition, according to him, a number of projects will be implemented on restoration and development of Artsakh, the repatriation program continues and it is planned to soon open the Center for Repatriates, where will be entrusted with a mission to provide all kinds of assistance to returnee compatriots. "Another project - Mapping the potential of the Diaspora - the map will include the data of our compatriots from the Diaspora who can be useful to Armenia in any way. Another project "Step to Home" is to create a spiritual connection with the historical homeland among young men and women from 12 to 18. If the coronavirus does not become an obstacle, we plan to involve more than 800 children in the project this year, "Sinanyan said, adding that the department he heads is aimed at finding as many opportunities as possible to stimulate the return of compatriots from the Diaspora and their full integration in Armenia.
