A  similar opinion was expressed to ArmInfo by Sergei Markedonov, a  leading researcher at the Center for Euro-Atlantic Security of the  Institute for International Studies at MGIMO, editor-in-chief of the  journal "International Analytics".

Especially in light  of the change in the American administration, which, in his opinion,  will awaken the South Caucasian interest of the United States.  Recently voiced by Turkish President Erdogan, the analyst, in  general, assesses the next idea of creating a regional platform with  the participation of Turkey, Russia, Iran, Armenia, Azerbaijan and  Georgia as attractive. At the same time, the prospects for its  implementation raise doubts. And, despite the consonance of Erdogan's  idea with the proposals of Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad  Zarif, both Moscow and Tehran, in Markedonov's view, are well aware  of the low prospects of its implementation.
