ArmInfo. The European Union welcomes the release of 5 Armenian servicemen captured by Azerbaijan in November and calls for the immediate release of the 57 remaining in custody. Spokesperson for the external affairs of the EU Peter Stano wrote about this on Twitter.
"This would contribute to building confidence between both countries which is important for lasting peace in the region," the diplomat added.
To recall, yesterday, with the mediation of Russian peacekeepers, Azerbaijan released 5 Armenian prisoners of war, in turn Yerevan released one Azeri captive.
To note, the exact number of Armenian prisoners of war, who were in Azerbaijani captivity is still not known.
