ArmInfo. There are no facts proving information that Azerbaijanis received Armenian passports. Deputy Chief of Police Ara Fidanyan stated this in an interview with journalists on January 27.
Fidanyan said that this information is being checked.
He also stated that it is possible to initiate a criminal case only if there are relevant facts. However, they are not there now, so there is no criminal case either.
To note, earlier former head of the National Security Service of Armenia, Argishti Kyaramyan, responded to accusations that he allegedly issued Armenian passports to 1,400 Azerbaijanis. This allegedly allowed the sabotage groups of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces to freely carry out operations on the territory of Artsakh during the 44-day war. Earlier, former employee of the Orbeli analytical center Andranik Hovhannisyan reported that he had acquired a diplomatic passport of the Prime Minister of Armenia from Azerbaijanis. According to Hovhannisyan, the Azerbaijanis stated that they could buy any document from former head of the National Security Service of Armenia Argishti Kyaramyan.
