ArmInfo. Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif announced the readiness of the Islamic Republic to restore the " freed regions of Azerbaijan" located on the common borders of the two countries.
At a meeting with his Azerbaijani counterpart Jeyhun Bayramov, the Iranian Foreign Minister, called the new stage after the "liberation of the occupied lands" an important moment for establishing peace and stability in the region and for all parties. Zarif also expressed satisfaction with the fact that the intensive meetings between the officials of Azerbaijan and Iran have been expanded at an appropriate level in recent months.
Zarif announced the readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran to actively and extensively participate in the reconstruction of "liberated areas located" on the common borders of the two countries.
Referring to the fruitful talks between the two countries at the recent meeting of the Economic Cooperation Commission and the views expressed by the President of Azerbaijan in today's meeting, Zarif called the two countries' strong determination for cooperation. Zarif said that there are no limitations on cooperation between Iran and Azerbaijan, adding that Iran's participation in Azerbaijan's economic projects is a huge opportunity for cooperation between the two countries in the field of transit and activation of the East-West and North-South corridors >.
Jeyhun Bayramov also stated at this meeting that relations between the two countries are based on friendship and common historical and cultural properties. He called the development of economic relations one of the important priorities in bilateral relations. According to IRNA, Zarif, who is on a visit to Baku, at a meeting with President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, welcoming his proposal entitled "six-party format of cooperation in the Caucasus", declared the readiness of the Islamic Republic of Iran to provide assistance and cooperation in all areas that contribute to peace, stability and tranquility in the region. Earlier, the President of Azerbaijan proposed to form a platform where Azerbaijan, Armenia, Iran, Georgia, Turkey and Russia could closely and effectively interact.
