ArmInfo. The Ministry of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of Armenia is negotiating with the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Armenia on the subject of removing the mandatory requirement for the presence of no more than 20 students in the classes of schools in the country. Deputy Minister of Education, Science, Culture and Sports of the Republic of Armenia Zhanna Andreasyan announced this at a press conference on January 25.
She recalled that the government's decision of January 11 in the country softened the conditions for maintaining anti-epidemiological measures caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. In this regard, the department proposes to introduce a provision on the possibility of excluding the requirement for the presence of no more than 20 students in classes, subject to the ability of schools to maintain a distance.
The Deputy Minister also noted that the current year was not easy for the educational institutions of the republic. For this reason, the approach to spring break will be appropriate. In particular, for pupils of the 1st grade, the holidays will begin on March 22 and will last until April 4, for the second grade - from March 22 to March 28. Taking into account the long fall period of downtime caused by quarantine measures, spring break is not provided for students in other grades.
The end of the school year for 12th grade students is set for June 4. 1-st and 2-nd graders will finish the year earlier than usual, and the rest of graders on June 18th.
