ArmInfo. The reports-resolutions adopted by the European Parliament contain a number of important provisions concerning the Azerbaijani aggression against Artsakh and the involvement of Turkey in this process, the war crimes committed, steps that need to be taken to eliminate the consequences of the aggression, especially on humanitarian issues. This is stated in the commentary of the Spokesperson of the Armenian Foreign Ministry Anna Naghdalyan in connection with the publication by the European Parliament of the annual reports on the Common Foreign and Security Policy (CFSP) and the Common Security and Defense Policy (CSDP).
"We consider it important that the European Parliament not only condemned war crimes, including attacks on civilians and infrastructure, places of worship, but also stressed that these crimes should not go unpunished.
We agree with the call of the European Parliament to Turkey to refrain from any intervention in the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, including through the provision of military assistance to Azerbaijan, and to abandon destabilizing actions. In this context, it is especially important that the European Parliament also condemned the fact that Turkey has transferred foreign armed mercenary terrorists from Syria and other places to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict zone, "Naghdalyan said.
At the same time, she highlighted the position of the European Parliament on humanitarian issues, in particular, the immediate repatriation of prisoners.
"It should be noted that the resolution reflected the issues of the security of the people of Artsakh, the protection of cultural and religious heritage. It is important that the European Parliament adopted the position of unhindered provision of humanitarian aid to Artsakh.
We attach importance to the efforts of the international community, in the form of such resolutions, to help eliminate the causes and consequences of the war, which, according to the resolution, also presupposes: <Final settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict within the framework of the OSCE Minsk Group co- chairmanship, determination of the future legal status of Artsakh on the basis of the Basic Principles proposed by the Co-Chairs>.
As it was again stated by this authoritative international body, the problem around Nagorno-Karabakh is based on the right of the people of Artsakh to self-determination and security, "the Spokesperson of the Armenian Foreign Ministry summed up.
