ArmInfo. Last week, MPs from the "Prosperous Armenia" faction visited Syunik, visiting all the communities of the region. PAP MP Mikael Melkumyan stated this during a briefing in the parliament.
The MP noted that Syunik is under threat and harshly criticized the demarcation of borders via GPS. "We visited the village of Shurnukh, where some of the houses are in Azerbaijan and the other in Armenia. It became dangerous in Syunik; Azerbaijani soldiers, armed to the teeth, stood at a distance of several meters from us. But the danger threatens not only Shurnukh, but the entire region. The road leading from Yerevan to Kapan is partially under the control of Azerbaijanis and the trip to Syunik itself becomes dangerous, "Melkumyan noted.
The MP said that members of their faction will continue to visit Syunik. "If we lose Syunik, then we will lose all of Armenia," the MP stressed.
