ArmInfo. We did not have any opportunity to stop the war with less territorial losses. Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this from the rostrum of the parliament.
The Prime Minister said that such talks are a myth. "We have taken a number of steps to end the war as soon as possible. On October 12, an armistice agreement was signed in Moscow and the continuation of negotiations in the format of the OSCE Minsk Group; however, the terms of the agreement were violated. We tried to conclude a truce three times, but to no avail," Pashinyan stressed.
The Prime Minister stressed that during the negotiations not a single option was discussed, according to which the refugees from Azerbaijan would not return to Shushi.
"I would like to draw your attention to the fact that before the liberation, more than 90% of the population of Shushi were Azerbaijanis. That is, could the city of Shushi remain Armenian, in conditions where more than 90% of its population would be Azerbaijanis?'', Pashinyan asked.
He again noted that he is responsible for the current situation. <To this day, I am responsible for everything that happens. Because everything did not end on November 9, the consequences of all these processes continue to this day. It was easiest for me to resign, but that would be irresponsible. My political team and I bear and will bear responsibility for all our steps," the Prime Minister stressed. Pashinyan stated that he proposes to check the legitimacy of the authorities by holding early parliamentary elections.
