ArmInfo. The procedure for passing the vehicle inspection will be changed in Armenia. The RA National Assembly at the plenary session on January 20 in the second and final reading adopted the draft amendments to the law "On ensuring road traffic safety" and in the package of related laws.
Presenting the amendments, Deputy Minister of Territorial Administration and Infrastructures of the Republic of Armenia Armen Simonyan noted that it is proposed to amend the procedure for technical inspection, freeing cars under 4 years of production from it, cars under 10 years old will be able to undergo a technical inspection every two years, and older cars - once in year. The changes also imply the introduction of an electronic ticket, which will get rid of the concept of "technical inspection coupon", which is attached to the glass of the car. According to the Deputy Minister, these coupons are fictitious today, since they can be obtained from the bank by paying the appropriate fee and simply glued to the glass without going through a real technical inspection. After the adoption of the law, technical inspection will be mandatory - you will need to go to the station, undergo a check, which will be automated and quite extensive. Moreover, all the parameters that are checked will be visible online, which will avoid unreliable checks and exclude the possibility of re-passing technical inspections at various stations. It is proposed to monitor the control of the technical inspection procedure through an electronic register and a diagnostic card. "The diagnostic card is filled in electronically and stored in the register, which will allow the traffic police to carry out control also electronically without stopping the vehicle," the deputy minister said. Established and administrative responsibility in cases established by law for the operation of a vehicle that has not passed the technical inspection.
