ArmInfo. This year, the "red lines" of parking may disappear in 10 districts of Yerevan, and drivers will be fined only on the basis of video recordings. Corresponding amendments and additions to the law "On local tax for parking vehicles" and the Code of Administrative Offenses were adopted in the second and final session of the country's parliament on January 20.
MP from the ruling "My Step" faction Sisak Gabrielyan, presenting the draft amendments to the parliament, noted that "red lines" will remain only in the center of the capital and in part of the territory of Arabkir district. "The administration of Yerevan will no longer be able to fine citizens on the basis of only one photo. As you know, many citizens are rightly indignant now that the time of placing cars in the parking lot is calculated incorrectly, "Gabrielyan explained. He noted that the Yerevan Municipality supports the initiative to amend the law and has already concluded an agreement with the relevant company on the installation of special technical equipment and cameras that will automatically record the offenses of citizens subject to a fine. "Where there are red lines, citizens, if they did not pay for parking, will be fined only if there is a video confirming that the car owner was there for more than 15 minutes," Gabrielyan said. The MP added that, upon receiving acts on fines, citizens will be able to follow the link and watch a video proving the fact of their violation.
