ArmInfo.First Deputy Minister of Emergency Situations Armen Pambukhchyan met today with the attache for internal security of the French Embassy in Armenia Herve Jamen, who is in Armenia for the first time. This was reported by the press service of the Ministry of Emergencies.
According to the source, the sides discussed with satisfaction the development of the Armenian-French relations, stressing the importance of developing new programs in the current situation. The issues of mine clearance, forest fire fighting, population protection, natural disaster risk management, psychological support and expanding cooperation in the field of disaster medicine were discussed.
Deputy Minister Pambukhchyan also drew attention to the need to use drones for monitoring various natural disasters and satellite geodynamic surveys using GPS. Following the meeting, Jamen expressed his readiness to work on the development of specific programs on the issues raised, to identify sources of funding for their implementation.
