ArmInfo. The meeting in Moscow on January 11 did not resolve any of the problems facing the Armenian side, in particular, the issue of prisoners of war. Former Minister of Defense of Armenia Seyran Ohanyan stated this in an interview with journalists in front of the court building.
Ohanyan noted that the current leadership easily falls under the influence of Azerbaijan and we just need a change of power. According to the former minister, we need a firm hand, but this power is weak and falls under the influence, this is not what Armenia needs now.
The Former Minister also noted that he was somewhat skeptical about the alleged unblocking of communications.
"Under the current conditions, after the victory of the Azerbaijani-Turkish tandem, the opening of the roads will lead to aggressive economic pressure from these countries. I also do not exclude that they will try to drastically change the demographic situation in Armenia. This situation is dangerous. Such an agreement could have a positive significance if we concluded a peace treaty with Baku.
At the moment, Turkish-Azerbaijani military exercises are taking place in Kars, is this similar to the position of a country preparing for peace? I don't think so. Moreover, I regard it as an attempt to put pressure on Armenia," Ohanyan concluded.
To note, a court session is underway in the case of second president of Armenia Robert Kocharyan and the other accused. A group of Kocharyan supporters gathered in front of the courthouse. They stated that the authorities who surrendered Shushi are judging those who liberated this city in due time and that such behavior is hypocritical and unacceptable
