ArmInfo.A specialized anti-corruption court and a corresponding Court of Appeal will be established in Armenia. The country's parliament at a plenary session on January 19 in the first reading amended the Judicial Code and a package of related laws.
Presenting the package, RA Minister of Justice Rustam Badasyan stressed that the specialized anti- corruption court will consist of at least 25 judges to ensure proper professionalism in the process of confiscation of property of illegal origin. The exact number of judges has not yet been precisely determined, this issue will be decided by the second reading. The creation of a specialized Court of Appeal for the fight against corruption is also envisaged. At the same time, the salaries of judges of the Anti- Corruption Court will exceed the salaries of their colleagues from the Court of Cassation, which will avoid possible corruption risks, which will help to increase the effectiveness of the fight against corruption in the country.
