ArmInfo.Today in Armenia there is a huge uncertainty in all spheres, and no one knows where the truth is, and what is the most effective strategy.
This was stated by the founder and CEO of Flagship Pioneering and Moderna Therapeutics, co-author of the concept At the Crossroads, and co-founder of the Aurora Humanitarian Initiative, in an interview "Let's Talk about the Future" organized by the discussion platform Futures Studio e by journalist Mark Grigoryan. Dr. Noubar Afeyan. According to him, the most important issue in the country is the issue of security in the military, economic, medical and social spheres. "Security must be ensured. For at least 100 years, the issue of security will be on the agenda," Noubar Afeyan said. He believes that the political processes and mistakes that were undoubtedly committed in different years prevented the creation of the Armenia they dreamed of. "Unfortunately, and ironically, the Armenians ended up in a country where they could create and develop a new future, however, unfortunately, we were unable to bring the future of our dreams to Armenia," the scientist said. Noubar Afeyan urges everyone to concentrate on the future and think about what actions will lead Armenia to development. According to him, progress can be ensured by different means, but when it comes to ups and downs, it is necessary to be focused exclusively on the future. Noubar Afeyan compares the development of the country with a start-up business - a startup, in which you need to understand your own risks, opportunities and desires. He believes that in order to create a new future, a leader must be able to deal with uncertainties. "For the development of Armenia, clear and ambitious goals are needed, you need to understand what to do to make the country a birthplace of ideas and values. A leader must be focused on the future, be able to take risks, overcome difficulties and adapt in various situations. The country can develop, if such people are at the helm, "said Noubar Afeyan. He stressed that they constantly tried to destroy the Armenian people, so they need to put down roots in the future, they need to imagine this future and take risks for it. "If we do not create this common future together, it will be too late in years. Today people suffer from the phenomena that were discussed back in 2001, they cannot put the future in priority, everyone looks to the past. We need to make people understand that it is necessary to look into the future so that the present, which is extremely painful, acquires meaning, content, because it serves the purpose of the future, "Afeyan notes. In his opinion, the current situation and the crisis facing Armenia also open up opportunities for the Diaspora: understand why the Diaspora wants to remain a member of the "club" of Armenians. It is necessary to understand what kind of responsibility we bear before Armenia. The diaspora is not involved in day- to-day decisions. Many people say that they should participate, perhaps they are right, but in this case the question arises: what should the Diaspora do? The crisis that has now emerged in Armenia makes us have a more serious conversation about our roles and responsibilities, "the scientist said. Noubar Afeyan is sure that in order to strengthen the Armenia-Diaspora ties, it is necessary to create a single body, but this requires a common concept of the future and the perception of a common goal. "We need political agendas, a competitive environment. Ultimately, shared values emerge in such an environment. When you seek help, you need to put aside the fear of criticism, because no one knows the truth, but asking questions can help you find the truth and find answers. Whatever we do, the moment has come when we are all responsible for the future of Armenia, and this gives hope to the people of Armenia, "concluded Nuban Afeyan.
