ArmInfo."I cannot take seriously the statements that the Karabakh conflict is resolved,"  Director of the Caucasus Institute Alexander Iskandaryan said on  January 12 during a video conference.

He stressed that the trilateral statement, which was signed yesterday  in Moscow, is not about the solution of the Karabakh conflict.  According to Iskandaryan, the Karabakh conflict cannot be resolved  now. "It would be simply naive to expect that after the war that  Azerbaijan won together with Turkey, Baku will become more flexible  than before the war," the expert noted. He added that Azerbaijanis,  unlike some, have a strategy. "It is primitive, sometimes even dim,  brutal, but it exists. This strategy, in fact, is the same as it was  - to put pressure on the Armenian sides, in all possible ways, now  not military, but diplomatic, economic, communicative, in order to  force them to agree to their terms ", - said Iskandaryan, stressing  that Azerbaijan continues the war not by military means, but by  pressing on the sore spots of the Armenians - hostages and  territories. He stated that the Karabakh problem has not gone away,  which is obvious from the behavior of the Azerbaijani side.

As for the Armenian side, as Iskandaryan noted, it is necessary to  work on defending one's point of view on this problem. "We need to  ensure security, to fulfill the previous agreement in order to move  on to the next.  This is the alphabet of the negotiation process. And  we have provisions that have not yet been fulfilled," he said.

However, in order to do this, according to the head of the Caucasus  Institute, it is necessary to have the state behind one's back.
