ArmInfo. Human rights defenders of Armenia are holding a protest action in front of the building of the Ministry of Justice, demanding explanations from the department whether a document will be signed, which is supposed during the visit of Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to Moscow.
Former Artsakh ombudsman, human rights activist Ruben Melikyan, in an interview with reporters, stated that the Ministry of Justice is obliged to answer the question whether the department has received a draft document that is planned to be signed in Moscow in a trilateral format. And whether this project was adapted to the Constitution of Armenia.
"The citizens of Armenia have the right to know what awaits them. Otherwise, the same story may repeat itself as with the inhabitants of Shurnukh. People woke up in the morning and found out that their houses no longer belong to them and this is the territory of Azerbaijan. I have already read the post of Rustam Badasyan, who refutes this information, but I do not consider this refutation a panacea. Employees of the Ministry of Justice should come to us and explain the situation, "Melikyan said. Melikyan also criticized Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, who assured citizens that the trilateral statement did not mention the corridor through Meghri to Nakhichevan. "I don't believe the Prime Minister of Armenia, he broke all his promises. Or does it seem to him that the document referred to the Syunik village of Shurnukh, or the Artsakh settlement of Khtsaberd? Of course not, but the enemy has already managed to take possession of them, "said the human rights activist. To note, recently the media reported that the Ministry of Justice received a draft agreement that is planned to be signed in Russia. According to the press, the Ministry of Justice should clarify whether the wording of this treaty is consistent with the Constitution of Armenia. Under this agreement, Armenia allegedly transfers a number of settlements to Azerbaijan, opens a corridor connecting Azerbaijan with Nakhchivan. Moreover, Armenia undertakes to withdraw its troops from Artsakh.
