ArmInfo.Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev warned Armenian officials against traveling to Nagorno-Karabakh, stressing that this impedes the normalization of relations. As TASS reports, the speech of the head of state was shown on Thursday on the AzTV channel.
"I was informed that the Armenian Foreign Minister was in Khankendi (Stepanakert). Let them not forget about the war. These trips must end. We warn you that if such provocative actions are taken, Armenia will regret even more," Aliyev said at the meeting to take stock of 2020.
The Azerbaijani leader noted that steps are being taken to normalize relations with the mediation of Russia. "Russia offered the parties its mediation opportunities. The delegation of representatives of the Russian government, which recently visited Armenia and Azerbaijan, mainly discussed these topics. If relations are normalized, then what is the need for such provocative visits? What do they want to show? Therefore, all trips should be ended", stressed Aliyev.
According to him, not a single foreign citizen, representatives of any international organization, except for the International Committee of the Red Cross, can travel to Nagorno-Karabakh without the permission of Azerbaijan. "This is our territory. The whole world recognizes it as an integral part of Azerbaijan," the president continued. Aliyev said that if such trips are repeated, "the answer will be very tough."
