ArmInfo. "He that is without sin among you, let him first cast a stone at her". On December 29, independent MP Arman Babajanyan addressed this biblical appeal to the members of the RA National Assembly, commenting on the draft decision of the National Assembly on dismissing Naira Zohrabyan from the post of Chair of the NA Standing Committee on Human Rights and Public Affairs.
Continuing the biblical theme, Arman Babajanyan noted that the ruling majority sees a speck in someone else's eye, not noticing a beam in their own. It seems to the "My Step" faction that the draft decision on dismissing Naira Zohrabyan of her post is the most important issue on the agenda that needs to be discussed as a matter of priority, especially after the second Karabakh war.
"And you think that taxpayers are paying you for this?" The MP asked, urging in this case to discuss the activities and effectiveness of all chairs of parliamentary committees, most of whom were simply inactive, especially during the war. Arman Babajanyan noted that he will vote against the presented document, considering that Naira Zohrabyan still has work to do in the parliament. According to the MP, the army and justice are the most important priorities that the state must ensure for its citizens.
The war showed that the state was unable to form an army capable of ensuring the security of the country and its citizens. Meanwhile, already 10 days after the war, the authorities should have received a draft law on the military reserve, which would provide for the formation of a reserve of 300 thousand people. A model for creating a reserve should have been determined - Finnish, Israeli, Estonian or Swiss, but this has not happened and is not happening.
"If the National Assembly feels responsible for the fate of the country, then it should act without delay. When the borders of the state are defenseless, this means the absence of armed forces, and it is necessary to resolve these and other issues, and not deal with the problem of Naira Zohrabyan," Arman Babajanyan stressed.
To note, today in parliament at 1:10pm a secret ballot has began on the issue of depriving Naira Zohrabyan of the post of chair of the Standing Committee on Human Rights and Public Affairs. Naira Zohrabyan herself does not participate in the discussions. She previously noted that she did not intend to participate in the show organized by the ruling majority.
