ArmInfo."We carry out the functions assigned to us by the law," Deputy Chief of the RA Police Ara Fidanyan told reporters on December 24 after the meeting of the Armenian government. Thus, he answered the question of whether the police will obey the order if the prime minister says that he wants to "see rivers of blood."
In this context, the Deputy Chief of the Police noted that the order of the Prime Minister has no force of law. He added that no such order had been received from the prime minister during his service.
To remind, former director of the National Security Service Artur Vanetsyan said earlier that during last year's events in Ijevan Nikol Pashinyan told then Chief of the RA Police Valery Osipyan that he wanted to "see rivers of blood" in Ijevan. Fidanyan recalled that he himself was not a participant in this conversation and whether there was such an order or not, he offered to ask those who were present there then.
Speaking about the resignations of high-ranking police officers, Ara Fidanyan noted that many are quitting for personal reasons, refusing to report these reasons. He added that the police is an apolitical body.
