ArmInfo. Former Ombudsman of the Artsakh Republic Artak Beglaryan will take up a post in the executive power bodies. He announced this on December 23 during a press conference.
Beglaryan said that he received such an offer from President of the Republic of Artsakh. After much deliberation, the former ombudsman agreed, since he came to the conclusion that in the current crisis period it could be more useful for the state in this particular position. At the same time, he stressed that, while working in the executive authorities, he intends to continue to focus on the sector of human rights protection.
Beglaryan did not say what specific post he would take, calling it incorrect to voice such information before the official statement of the head of state.
"I think that I will deal with crisis management issues in the short term in this post . In this situation, a lot of problems are caused precisely by gaps and errors in management. After that, in the medium and long term, I intend to carry out reforms that correspond to the announced course of the president's program, " he said.
First of all, as the Ombudsman, he noted that the main attention, in the existing conditions, should be paid to the maximum reduction of risks related to security. <The Defense Army is working. The role of peacekeepers is also very important, but all law enforcement officials and those in charge, including the National Security Service, the Police and others, must take all possible steps to reduce the risks, that citizens could feel safe, " he said.
At the same time, Beglaryan stressed the importance of resolving issues with providing housing for about 40 thousand citizens who lost their homes due to political agreements and military actions, as well as social security, in particular through the implementation of targeted programs. Among the key issues on the agenda, in his opinion, there should also be issues with the return of prisoners of war and the search for missing persons, as well as the provision of psychological assistance, for which it is necessary to form institutional mechanisms.
