ArmInfo. The "Bright Armenia" party proposes to create a parity working group that will investigate the events of the 44-day war in Artsakh. Head of the "Bright Armenia" faction, MP Edmon Marukyan stated this at a press conference.
Marukyan stressed that he considers the creation of a committee of inquiry in parliament senseless. "In parliament, the commiittee of inquiry will include representatives of the ruling faction, and they will be the majority. Moreover, Andranik Kocharyan, the head of Standing Committee on Defense and Security will most likely become the head of the committee, and this is unacceptable," the MP noted.
He noted that he has a proposal to create a working group, which will include not only parliamentary factions, but also other political forces. "Each parliamentary faction will send 4 representatives from its factions, one more representative will be represented by the Republican Party of Armenia, ARF Dashnaktsutyun and the We bloc. These are the forces that did not have enough votes to enter parliament. Another representative will be sent by the Ombudsman of Armenia. Thus, we will have a group of 16 people.
According to Marukyan, the group will investigate the events before and after the 44-day war and will try to find answers to the following questions: <was it possible to avoid a war, were our Armed Forces ready for war, at what level did Armenia's diplomacy show itself and did us chances to win?>.
