ArmInfo.The European Court of Human Rights has adopted a statement by the Armenian side on the application of an interim measure against Baku in connection with the issue of the Armenian servicemen who were surrounded in the Karabakh village of Khtsaberd.
Armenia's representative to the ECHR Yeghishe Kirakosyan, after a meeting with the relatives of the soldiers who were surrounded in Khtsaberd, prepared a document on the application of an interim measure against Azerbaijan. An interim measure concerns 53 soldiers who were surrounded in Khtsaberd. As regards 9 more servicemen who were surrounded, the lawyers submitted a statement. As reported by the Armenian representation in the ECHR, the court demanded that Azerbaijan provide data on these servicemen by December 28. It is also required to submit medical documents about their state of health and indicate the timing of their exchange.
To note, after the adoption of the trilateral ceasefire agreement in Artsakh, the Azerbaijani army violated the agreements and attacked the village of Khtsaberd, which was under the control of the Armenian armed forces. The Armenian servicemen were surrounded, the Azeri side reported that 62 Armenian servicemen were held captive.
