ArmInfo. Russian peacekeepers accompanied another convoy of refugees returning to Nagorno-Karabakh from the territory of the Republic of Armenia. According to the press service of the RF Ministry of Defens, from December 22 up to this day 351 people were transferred y buses from Yerevan to Stepanakert.
The buses were escorted by patrols from the Russian peacekeeping contingent and military police.
The servicemen of the Russian peacekeeping contingent ensure the safe return of citizens to their places of permanent residence, provide humanitarian assistance, and restore civilian infrastructure. There is also a round-the-clock monitoring of the situation and control over the observance of the ceasefire at twenty-three observation posts.
In total, about 43 thousand refugees have already returned to Nagorno-Karabakh to their places of permanent residence.
It should be noted that a peacekeeping contingent of the Russian Federation will be deployed to control the ceasefire and military operations in Nagorno-Karabakh. The core of the Russian contingent is made up of units of the 15th separate motorized rifle brigade (peacekeeping) of the Central Military District.
