ArmInfo. The border of Armenia along the length of the Syunik region is decided according to the RA Law on Administrative-Territorial Division, which was adopted back in 2010. RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this to the citizens gathered in Sisian on December 21 during his visit to Syunik.
Expressing gratitude to the Sisian residents for such a reception, he noted that he has come here to look them in the eyes and explain what is happening on the border of Syunik. "Today there is a lot of talk about the fact that the process of the surrender of Syunik is underway, and the region is in danger. But the opposite is true. With the deployment of border troops, our level of security increases. When we are asked why border guards are deployed precisely along this border, I want to ask a counter question - who defined these boundaries? And the border was approved in accordance with the RA law on administrative-territorial division, which was adopted in 2010, "the head of government stressed.
In this regard, he gave examples of the communities of Nerkin Khndzoresk. The communities that, according to this division, border Azerbaijan and not Artsakh.<Why was it not indicated earlier that this is Artsakh? The CSTO cannot interfere when the issue goes beyond the borders of Armenia. They tell us, "t hese are your boundaries, and you have defined them yourself," he said.
At the same time, the prime minister stressed that the search for the missing soldiers continues. In this vein, he said that he had contacted dozens of times on this issue personally with Russian President Vladimir Putin, with the head of the peacekeeping contingent. <Yes, many parents say we don't do anything. And they have the right to say so, because there are no results. But I want to assure you that we are doing our best. I know that I am very much to blame for you on many issues. But I hope that I will be worthy of your trust, " he stressed. At the same time, the prime minister urged to open the road to Goris in order to answer the "difficult and correct questions of the people of Goris".
However, a little later, in order to avoid provocations on mourning days, Nikol Pashinyan decided to cancel his visit to Goris. <I made sure that the asituation in Goris, Kapan, Meghri and Kajaran is the same as in Sisian, so the road to Goris is closed. We will not use force, even on the day of mourning," the Prime Minister wrote on his Facebook page, saying that he will return to Yerevan.
To note, within the framework of his visit to Sisian, the Prime Minister of Armenia arrived at the Pantheon, where he paid tribute to the memory of the dead servicemen, laying flowers and bowing before their graves. At the Pantheon, Pashinyan talked with relatives who lost their children during the hostilities, after which he went up to the temple and lit candles for the repose of the soldiers.
