ArmInfo. So far, nothing is known about the fate of 73 Armenian servicemen who disappeared near the villages of Khtsaberd and Hin Tagher. Artsakh Defense Army press service reported.
As the Ombudsman of Artsakh Artak Beglaryan previously reported, according to preliminary data, a subdivision of 60 servicemen has gone missing in the direction of the aforementioned villages in recent days. The Azerbaijani side has posted a video about this. According to the Ombudsman, this incident is absolutely unacceptable and law enforcement agencies must conduct a prompt and detailed investigation to establish all the circumstances and the circle of those responsible. In addition, it is necessary to provide clear information to the relatives of prisoners of war and to carry out the most transparent communication with society in order to avoid misinformation and additional tension, he said.
The report of Artsakh Defense Army notes that from the first hours of information about the incident, with the support of Russian peacekeepers, urgent work is being carried out to quickly clarify the fate of the servicemen.
Let us add that the Chief of the General Staff of the RA Armed Forces, Colonel General Onik Gasparyan is also in Artsakh to study the issue on the spot and take the necessary measures.
It should be noted that last Saturday, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, contrary to their obligations under the Trilateral Statement of Ceasefire, attacked the villages of Khtsaberd and Hin Takher of the Hadrud region of NKR, which are the territories of the Armenian side. These settlements were not included in the zone of the peacekeeping operation. However, on December 13, a new map appeared on the website of the Russian Ministry of Defense, according to which the villages of Khtsaberd and Hin Tagher entered the zone of the peacekeeping operation. However, later the villages were removed from the peacekeeping operation map.
