ArmInfo. Artsakh President Arayik Harutyunyan intends to resign from the post of chairman and leave the Free Homeland party. Harutyunyan spoke about this in his video message.
Harutyunyan said that he began political consultations with the parliamentary and extra-parliamentary forces of Artsakh, as well as public organizations in order to jointly find a way out of the current crisis.
"We were able to reach agreements with a number of forces, discussions are also underway with other forces, and I see opportunities for mutual cooperation. However, cooperation is offered in a broad sense, and not only in view of the appointment of representatives of various political forces to high positions, "the Artsakh President noted.
He emphasized that every worthy political force or person has the right to use his potential for the benefit of his homeland.
<I made a number of important decisions. Despite the fact that, according to the provisions of the Constitution, the President has broad powers, but proceeding from the logic of cooperation and unity, I am ready to make decisions that are vital to our homeland, having come to a common opinion with the National Assembly, the Security Council and wider public and political circles.
I decided to leave the post of chairman of the Free Homeland party, since as president of the republic I intend to act and be perceived as a person standing above the parties. In this case, I want to be perceived as a political figure who is a unifying person, especially in a crisis situation, "concluded Harutyunyan.
