Artsakh President: Two of the three principles of the Artsakh  conflict settlement are no longer relevant

ArmInfo.  Artsakh President Arayik Harutyunyan touched upon the foreign policy priorities of  Artsakh. On his Facebook page, Harutyunyan noted that, in general,  these priorities have not changed, but they should be implemented  more intensively.  According to the President of Artsakh, the main  direction of foreign policy is to ensure the security of the NKR  people by political means. That is, the foreign policy potential of  Artsakh and Armenia should be aimed at ensuring stability and  security in the NKR, so that the citizens of the country can live  peacefully in their homeland.

"Moreover, we intend to actively deal with the issue of determining  the international status of Artsakh. In particular, it means the  international recognition of the independence of the Republic of  Artsakh, based on the unconditional recognition of the fact of the  realization of the right of our people to self-determination.  Before  the war, the settlement of the Artsakh conflict was based on three  principles - non-use of force, the right of peoples to  self-determination and territorial integrity. However, Azerbaijan,  with the support of Turkey and Syrian mercenaries, used force and  committed many war crimes, "Harutyunyan stressed.  He also noted that  there are no preconditions according to which it would become clear  that the international community wants to punish Baku for the crimes  committed.

"Now Azerbaijan not only has no problems related to territorial  integrity, but on the contrary, it occupied the territories of  Artsakh, proclaimed in 1991. And in 1990, other territories of  Karabakh were occupied, due to the occupation of which thousands of  Artsakh Armenians lost their homes. The last two principles are no  longer relevant, but we need to implement the third principle -  recognition of the independence of Artsakh, taking into account the  people's right to self-determination. After that, it will be possible  to decide how the Artsakh conflict can be resolved, "said  Harutyunyan.

The Artsakh President stated that international recognition will  provide guarantees for the security and protection of the rights of  the NKR Armenians.
