ArmInfo. One should not exclude the possibility of new incidents in the difficult conflict over Nagorno-Karabakh, experts told RIA Novosti.
Earlier, commander of the Russian military contingent of peacekeeping forces in the zone of the Nagorno- Karabakh conflict, Lieutenant General Rustam Muradov said that the situation in the area of two villages in the Hadrut region of Karabakh, where the ceasefire was violated on December 11, has returned to normal.
According to him, a ceasefire violation took place near Khtsaberd and Hin Tagher settlements in the Hadrut region, which was suppressed by the actions of the Russian peacekeeping contingent.
"It is very important for Russia that this ceasefire is respected by the parties. I welcome the fact that the Russian peacekeepers were brought up so quickly to the zone of this conflict, this is very important. But, in my opinion, the danger of all sorts of incidents cannot be considered eliminated." - told RIA Novosti the ambassador, the former plenipotentiary of the President of the Russian Federation for Nagorno-Karabakh and former co-chairman of the OSCE Minsk Group Vladimir Kazimirov. According to him, it is necessary to make public information about who violated the ceasefire, which was established in 1994 and thus existed for about 26 years.
A similar opinion is shared by Vadim Mukhanov, a leading researcher in the Caucasus sector of the Primakov IMEMO RAS. "There are no guarantees that there will be no re-aggravation. Moreover, the statements made by the parties to the conflict now - following the results and after the conclusion of the agreement - leave no doubt that the parties to the conflict are ready to continue resolving the situation," the expert noted. In his opinion, only the will of the parties and political elites can help the settlement. "While the situation is in limbo. And, unfortunately, the corps of Russian peacekeepers will be in the same limbo, because to some extent they will be hostages of the situation ... there are high risks of recurrence of exacerbations not only in Hadrut, but also in other vital areas, including along the borders of the Lachin corridor, "the researcher concluded.
