ArmInfo.Azerbaijan has extensive experience in carrying out provocations. By doing this, it solves several problems at once - local, regional and geopolitical. Artsakh President's Advisor David Babayan stated this in an interview with ArmInfo correspondent.
Babayan noted that provocations are powerful tool of pressure of local nature. "That is, in this way, Baku locally strengthens its positions. The fact is that the citizens of the country are returning to Artsakh. And seeing what is happening, fearing a resumption of the war, people may have an idea whether it is worth returning to Artsakh, or is it better to emigrate. It is safe to say that if people start leaving, Azerbaijan will achieve its goal, "said the adviser to the Artsakh president.
Babayan also noted that this is not the only task of the authorities in Baku and Ankara. "As for the global and regional task, it is undermining the image of the Russian peacekeepers in Armenia and Artsakh. Moreover, Turkey also seeks to undermine Russia's image in the region and weaken its position.
People who come out with anti-Russian slogans, can be counted on the fingers of one hand in Artsakh, in fact, they increase the tension. It should be understood that anti-Russian propaganda will lead to the destruction of Artsakh. Unfortunately, there are more such people in Armenia, although they are not of a mass character, "he stressed. The adviser to the Artsakh President also noted that Azerbaijan will not give up its goals so easily. "We need to realize that Baku's goal is to intimidate the Artsakh population and achieve its goals. Therefore, you need to be ready for these provocations and not succumb to them>, David Babayan concluded.
It should be noted that on Saturday, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces, contrary to their obligations under the Trilateral Statement of Ceasefire, attacked the villages of Khtsaberd and Khin Tekher of the NKR Hadrud region that remained behind the Armenian side. These settlements were not included in the zone of the peacekeeping operation. However, on December 13, a new map appeared on the website of the Russian Ministry of Defense, according to which the villages of Khtsaberd and Khin Tekher entered the zone of the peacekeeping operation.
